Hello Parents!
Happy Sunday! First frost this morning...big time! Snow is coming!
GRADE 5 - This week we will begin to learn more about saints. What is a saint? How do we get to Heaven? What is a canonized saint? We will then watch 12 short videos about specific saints....St. Agatha, St. Anne, St. Carlo Acutis, St. Sebastian...and write down 3 facts about each saint. This way we can learn more about excellent role models for ourselves. We will also have homework to memorize the five joyful mysteries of the Rosay for a quiz next week.
GRADE 6 - We will read in Genesis and watch videos about the lives of Isaac, Rebecca, Esau, Jacob and the extended, drama-filled family of Jacob. We also will memorize the five joyful mysteries of the Rosary for a quiz next week.
GRADE 7 - We will have a test on Tuesday on the 14 symbols that we drew in the front of the Church near the altar. LewEllen should make sure that she has all the stain glass windows up to St. Peter drawn, colored, and facts listed. Parents, you can check the status of your child's stain glass drawings in her/his yellow notebook. We should have finished # 1 - 7 as of this morning.....The Good Shepherd, St. Paul, St. John Vianney, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Lawrence, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Michael. #8 is St. Peter.
GRADE 8- We are beginning the Ten Commandments.....discussing Who is God? Where is God? What does God do? How do we know that God exists at all? What is faith? How do we increase our faith? How can we deepen our own personal friendship with Jesus?
Grade 8 for homework will be memorizing the 5 joyful AND the five sorrowful mysteries of the rosary for a quiz next week.
Fr. Michael and Mrs. Gujda have arranged for grades 6 and 7 and 8 to go spend 15 minutes with our Lord in church during Eucharistic adoration later in the week.
On April 7, 2027 students in grades 7 and 8 will participate in Connecticut RIght to Life's annual March for Life at the state capitol in Hartford. More information to come as that date approaches.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the conferences this week. Purpose of these conferences is to help parents and teachers better help our students to be successful.
